"What I love about this photo is the movement," says Ken Duncan. The scene records the moment in The Passion of the Christ when Simon of Cyrene is plucked from the crowd to help Jesus carry the cross to the place of execution. The sense of dramatic movement serves as a metaphor for the Christian life. We are not meant to be alone in our walk through this world. Rather we are invited to join Jesus on his walk. "This man was just picked from a crowd," says Ken, "and yet he was profoundly affected by walking with Jesus. There is a cost to walking with Christ. We all have a cross to bear. But if we walk with Jesus and understand the Passion he endured, we cannot help but be changed."
