The feeling of motion achieved with this shot was due to the fact that I took this photograph soon after a small boat had cut its path through the normally still waters. I waited for some time in the late afternoon for the waters to become perfectly still, but passing boats just kept on disturbing the smooth surface. After some heated dialogue with the “boats” I finally thought to myself, “Hey, maybe I should shoot it with the ripples and forget my endless quest for perfection!” The result, a photo that seems to have subtle ‘movement’ due to that small boat´s uninvited wake. Reality is often better than imagination
