Long Jetty is rightfully named after the many elongated jetties in the area, one of which can be seen in this shot, jutting out far into the shallow lake. What appears to be a peaceful, restful shot actually took me over a week of action to obtain! The changing weather conditions meant I had to keep returning in my attempt to capture the desired water and sunset combination. This photo is a never-to-be-repeated legend! What is actually happening is my assistant Bill is standing in the lake behind the boat keeping the craft motionless, his head just above the water to breathe while I am balancing all my equipment as my feet sink into the muddy bottom. At the same time fish were nibbling at our toes while we sought to remain PERFECTLY STILL so as to not create ripples and spoil the reflections in the water! You try it sometime!!
