For this shot I returned to Hopetoun Falls, one of my favourite spots in Victoria. It was an overcast day with patches of rain, providing the perfect light for photographing a waterfall. It had snowed here on the previous night - a rare occurrence in the Otway Ranges - and looking carefully you can see the remnants of snow in the crown of one of the tree ferns. To achieve this 220 degree view I used my medium format Round shot camera which employs a rotating lens. The scene captures the journey of the river from the veil-like falls over a long tumble of rocks and then onwards along its path towards the sea. It's easy to hear its music as it flows, easy to be drawn into the delightful melody of the water s unending song.
