This 220-degree view shows part of the Kimberley escarpment towering over an inlet of the sea. The angle of the shot belies the fact that the waterfalls in the distance are actually huge. To the right of centre - on the nearer headland - the tiny figure of a man gives just a hint of the true perspective. Everything in the Kimberley is played out on a grand scale, from the vast sprawls of Spinifex and rock to the dramatic reversals that come with the Wet and Dry. After the Wet Season, as in this shot, the waters thunder across the landscape until their final descent into the sea; it is as if nature is being painted with the broadest of strokes!
