This delightful, grotto-like location is in Tasmania's famous Pine Valley in the Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park: A gentle stream cuts through heavily mossed banks and tree trunks in a picture that looks untouched since the dawn of time. We camped not far from this spot, on a beautiful mossy carpet under massive Huon pines. How privileged we felt to be sharing the forest with such giants of nature. Some of the trees in our camp dated back to before the birth of Christ - more than two thousand years. It brought home to us how priceless these ancient forests are. They are an irreplaceable part of our national heritage. We should preserve these places like treasures.
