This is just one of Western Australias many natural wonders - a canal hollowed out along the coast between a series of granite outcrops. It is located in Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, about three hours south of Perth. In this photograph, the so-called Canal Rocks are captured at sunrise, with the sky flooded with pastel and the sea a deep, inky blue. I felt that only a wide 5:1 ratio image would do justice to this location. No other format could capture the whole sweep of the scene spreading out from that distinctive central rock. But with this 240 degree scan, the viewer gets a real sense of the breadth of the formation, and of the remarkable forces of nature that have created it.

Every effort has been made on this Gallery site to accurately represent the vibrant colours of Ken’s images. However, due to differences in computer screens and certain other variations, the images here should only to be taken as a guide.
The colour and sharpness of a finished Ken Duncan Limited Edition Print are far superior to what can be presented on a small screen.
