Boorangoora, meaningWaters of Wisdom, is the name the local Butchulla Indigenous people gave this lake. This was a place for decision making. The elders wise ones would meet here to listen for messages coming on the breeze from the spirits. And there is definitely something spiritual about this place.Boorangoorais a perched lake, fed only by rainwater. The pure, white silica sand acts as a filter, making the water crystal-clear and very pure. During the day, many people visit this idyllic location to swim and laze on the sand. But at the end of the day there are few people left and a wonderful sense of tranquillity settles over the place. Hopefully this image captures some of that magic for you.
