This shot sat for some time in my film library, just waiting to be discovered and released in print. It amazes me that often it takes quite a while for what I consider a great shot to emerge. I had looked at this photo numerous times and thought I should do something with it. Now I'm glad I finally did. Maybe some images, like fine red wines, improve over time.

This scene was shot in the days when we were allowed more freedom to roam around Kata Tjuta. It would be impossible to take this shot today, as the area is no longer accessible. It's sad that so many places are being locked away, especially when the basis of indigenous beliefs is the importance of connecting people with the land. Thankfully I immortalised this scene when I had the chance, so now we can all share this special place.
