Fascinating patterns sweep down the grainy sandstone flanks of Kurumpa one of the innumerable twists and folds in the sides of Uluru. Many people visit to climb the Rock or see It's infamous colour change at sunset, but to really enter into its majesty you need to walk around it. In this cleft at the Rock s base lies a pool fed by a spring from the heart of the ground. In times gone by this was respected as a fountain of life - the most permanent water source around. Dwarfed in the omniscience of such a hallowed place our spirits may still drink in the wonder of creation.
