I love the spectacular grandeur of this scene with its regal cliffs and sweep of vegetation. In the far distance are the thundering King George Falls, marked overhead by a wonderful pillar of cloud. The whole scene is thrown in magnificent reflection upon the glass-like waters of King George River. At the time I was doubtful whether this photo would work. I was travelling up the river in a cruise boat. The only way I could capture the shot was to hang off the bows, trying my best to hand-hold my camera for a relatively slow shutter speed of one thirtieth of a second. The result however was glorious, a portrait of reflected splendour that beautifully placed these famous falls in the amphitheatre of their surrounds.
