Ive visited Ellery Creek many times over the years. This was one of the wettest seasons Ive seen. It was also the first time Ive ever seen a mist here, yet it all made for a delightful early morning scene. The soft golden light, coupled with the moisture, brought out wonderful colours: reds and ochres on the bark and hillside; yellows and greens in the vegetation. The water was perfectly still, beautifully reflecting the surrounding forms. The rising mist gave the shot a delicate ethereal quality, which was unexpected in this usually arid MacDonnell Ranges location. But thats the beauty of the Australian outback - it constantly surprises you, even in locations you think you know.

Every effort has been made on this Gallery site to accurately represent the vibrant colours of Ken’s images. However, due to differences in computer screens and certain other variations, the images here should only to be taken as a guide.
The colour and sharpness of a finished Ken Duncan Limited Edition Print are far superior to what can be presented on a small screen.
