This image was taken towards the end of the wet season, while Ray Martin and I were filming for theChasing the Lightdocumentary. King George Falls is without doubt one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Australia. Because it is so remote, it is also very peaceful all you will hear are the sounds of nature. This pristine wilderness epitomises for me the Australian outback. The rich, red ochres of our Great South Land are contrasted by our beautiful blue skies, highlighted with dramatic clouds. The falls drop 200 feet from the top of the escarpment to the river below. At the top, the water is crystal clear and free of salt-water crocodiles. But its a different story down below, where sea water seeps in on the tides and enormous crocodiles protect their lower kingdom not ideal for a swim! Places like this really help recharge my batteries for the next adventure.
