During a photographic workshop in the red centre, we went to Uluru hoping for that quintessential photo of spectacular clouds over the red rock at daybreak. But instead of the glorious sunrise we were hoping for, the sky became grey and overcast. Soon it was pouring rain, and by the time we got back to our vehicle we were pretty wet. As we drove back around the rock, we came to this western face and saw streams gushing down the side of Uluru. I urged everyone to get out and take a shot, but some only saw an opportunity to get drenched. I took my camera, tripod and umbrella and was able to shoot this spectacular stitched panorama. A few joined me , but many missed the golden opportunity. It was difficult to shoot in the wind and rain, but in that moment, it was important to remain calm. We went looking for one thing, but in the end we got a far greater opportunity. You need to be ready for every opportunity to capture a great photo
