Haasts Bluff is one of those special places that just feels like home to me. Ive been photographing this area for over 25 years and, on this occasion, was travelling with my good friend Ray Martin. Ray has a real heart for our Aboriginal people, so I wanted to share with him one of my special places. On this morning, as the sun was rising, there was an explosion of colour in the sky. If you know of Ray Martin s love for photography, you will know Its very hard for him to put his camera down. Yet here he is, off to the left, his camera taking second place as he is drinking in the majesty of the moment. I like having Ray in the shot, as he gives scale to the scene. And what an amazing welcome to country for my friend!
