My fascination with the Kimberley region of WA and its spectacular waterfalls inspired me to return to film a documentary at the tail end of the wet season. While watching the sun rise over King George Falls, our celebrity guest, Ray Martin, asked me what I was going to shoot. I didnt have an answer because, at that stage, the light was pretty bland. I felt I should just enjoy my time there and trust that everything would work out. I did manage to capture some lovely shots that day, but when it came time to select an image to print, I chose this one I had taken on a previous trip.
The moral of this story is sometimes its more important to enjoy a location and not feel pressured to come up with a winning shot. Just relax, as you may already have the prize in hand.
