After an amazing morning, photographing Mt Fitz Roy reflected in glacial lakes, we began our long descent to El Chaltn. Suddenly we came upon this beautiful alpine meadow with a vibrant show of autumn foliage. The display was almost overwhelming. I had some difficulty deciding where to shoot from to convey the majesty of the scene. We waited here for some time, watching as the intensity of the light changed with the varying cloud cover. In this divine moment, everything just seemed to come together perfectly. The different layers in the image lead in to the towering peak of Mount Fitz Roy in the background.
