I love the simple majesty of this scene. Before the sun rose, the horizon was just a haze of misty cloud, and the view almost featureless. But then the sun began its ascent. Normally there are only a few moments to shoot a rising sun before it becomes too bright and blows out the shot. But here the cloud acted like a giant diffuser, allowing me to capture an awesome display of golden light. I shot many frames here, but this is my favourite. The positioning of the waves gives great balance to the image: one wave broken, one wave breaking and one that s yet to come. To me, Its like the Father, Son and Holy Spirit - a reminder of God s presence in a moment of great simplicity.

Every effort has been made on this Gallery site to accurately represent the vibrant colours of Ken’s images. However, due to differences in computer screens and certain other variations, the images here should only to be taken as a guide.
The colour and sharpness of a finished Ken Duncan Limited Edition Print are far superior to what can be presented on a small screen.
