Bali is a very special place for me, as it was here, on my first overseas surfing adventure, that I discovered the joys of panoramic photography. For an Australian who had never left our own shores, the culture and atmosphere back in the 1970 s was totally mind-blowing. This is also where my dream was birthed to capture images as a diary of my adventures. When I returned to Bali recently, I was astounded at how much development had taken place in the intervening years. Yet all the traffic and frenetic activity didnt t negate the underlying beauty of the place and the warm, gentle nature of the Balinese people. As this is a favourite holiday destination for Australians, I wanted to capture an image that embodies a little of the spirit of Bali. I love the simplicity of this shot just a crystal-clear wave, unfolding on mysterious Tanah Lot Beach, with a temple as its watch tower.
