Although I love the grandeur of Kilimanjaro, I have no desire to climb it, as I believes its silhouette is what makes It'so majestic. In the evening, the elephants of Kilimanjaro tend to move up into the tree line at the base of the mountain. Then, through the day, they wander on down to the waterholes. I had been trying to find a spot where I could capture the elephants on their journey, with Kilimanjaro in the background and on this glorious day, a herd crossed right in front of us. Two things make a shot like this difficult. Firstly, Kilimanjaro is often obscured by cloud and, secondly, it's hard to predict where the elephants are going to be. The key with wildlife photography is to have patience. Opportunities will present themselves if you don't give up.
