When I recently visited Mana Pools in Zimbabwe, I was looking for a match to an earlier image called, The Power of One, which had quickly sold out. I didnt want to shoot the same scene, but was looking for another elephant image that would perhaps be a pair for The Power of One. This particular morning, I was hoping to do something with a silhouette in the early light. The sun came up, but nothing much was happening, until suddenly this elephant entered stage left and headed for the tree. I willed him to slow down, because I was using slow exposures at the time. Then he started reaching up to get to those high branches, with the rising sun right behind him. I did a stitch a series of images taken close together to create a panorama and miraculously, everything came together at the right moment. The print name represents the elephant reaching beyond where hed been before, to reach those sweet leaves at the top.
