Local surfers had said the surf was up. I headed off in pitch darkness to shoot a sunrise, with no real idea of where to go and ended up at North Avoca. I just love to witness the assault of powerful seas pounding against the shore. Getting into position to take this shot was a little tricky. I had to judge the waves carefully as I climbed up the cliff with all my gear to avoid the clutches of the raging sea. As the sun rose, it suddenly penetrated the seemingly omnipotent cloud cover to herald in a new day. “Let there be Light!”
