At Hill Inlet, on Queenslands Whitsunday Island, great swirls of pure white silica sand sweep and curl through crystal clear waters. The patterns (like those of a kaleidoscope) are ever-changing, churned by a moving shaft of silica out to sea. In this scene, the sand has formed a delicate islet, the surrounding water translucent and rippling in the tropical sun. A gentle line of leaves marks the high tide line, and in the far distance - on a blue horizon - a lone white sail sums up the dreamy freedom of the entire view. This, to me, is one of the most beautiful locations on the planet. Looking at this shot helps wash away the cares of the world and puts life back into perspective.
