Terrigal, which is in my local area, is one of my favourite spots on the planet. As seen in this shot, the lagoon is separated from the ocean by a strip of sandy beach, and its still waters hold the promise of wonderful reflections. I had been eyeing off this location for many mornings, and on this particular day I just had a feeling I should head out here before dawn. It was dark when I arrived I could see stars twinkling above. But there was no wind as I waited hopefully for first light. There was virtually no-one else around, which was odd for such a popular beach. How beautiful it was just to sit there and experience the sunrise, as the first rays snuck under the clouds and set them gloriously on fire.
