I thought I knew all the lighthouses in NSW. I had been to Port Macquarie many times, but had somehow missed this great location. It just goes to show, you may think you know a place, but you can often be surprised to find just a small section which, when isolated, can become a stunning picture. It was such a pleasure to be here on this particular morning as the golden rays of the rising sun brought a radiant scene to life. As I waited for the sun to rise, fishermen arrived and positioned themselves precariously on the rocks. And on a bench up near the lighthouse you can see a solitary figure gazing out to sea as the sun begins its daily journey across the heavens. What a wonderful way to start the morning.
