Wonderfully sculpted, The Remarkables are a famous collection of boulders on a Kangaroo Island promontory. Most photos of the rocks are shot northward, towards a group of stones that has become quite iconic over time. On the day of my visit, I too pointed my camera towards the usual bunch of boulders. Then I chanced to look around - to the south-west. Thats when I noticed the beautiful composition of the group pictured. The balance of the formation really fascinated me; I was especially taken with the open arms of the larger stone at the front right of the group. It was as if it was protecting the little rock beneath it, like the enshrouding wings of an angel. Even the light (late afternoon with an overcast sky) worked so much better from this angle. For me, it was another lesson in learning to look away from the norm.

Every effort has been made on this Gallery site to accurately represent the vibrant colours of Ken’s images. However, due to differences in computer screens and certain other variations, the images here should only to be taken as a guide.
The colour and sharpness of a finished Ken Duncan Limited Edition Print are far superior to what can be presented on a small screen.
