I walked into this area in the dark with a small group of people and waited near this glacial lake to see what the dawn would reveal. We had never been to this location before, so we had no idea what to expect. As we waited, the changing early morning light created many opportunities. But when the sun finally hit Mt Fitz Roy, it was as if the whole mountain had been set on fire. I remember thinking that no one would believe the colour could be so intense. But here it is, reflected brilliantly in the stillness of Lago Los Tres. To me this shot is a glorious combination of all the elements - fire, earth, air and water. As a photographer, this is one of the most awe-inspiring experiences I have ever had.
