Just before our trip to Canada, I had been shooting wildlife in Africa, where one of our guides explained that to take really good wildlife photos, you need patience - and love. Not just love for what youre doing, but love for everything around you. And as you get into that place of peace, shots will come to you. In Canada, I shared that with all our group - patience and love. Then my Phase One camera broke down. I had a second camera body with me, but when I tried to attach my lenses to the spare body, they didnt fit. The only lens I had which fitted the new camera was a 75mm lens - not ideal for shooting wildlife! I was obviously frustrated and one of our group reminded me I needed patience and love for shooting wildlife. I knew he was right, so I decided to just do the best I could with what I had. Right towards the end of the trip, a polar bear came really close to our Tundra Buggy and I got this shot. The wide angle lens turned out to be perfect, because it allowed me a greater depth of field. Patience - and love!
