The lion is a universal symbol of power and might and here he stands strong, surveying his domain. But even the lion the king of the jungle has to face trials and tribulations in order to survive. His primary threats come from other lions. He is continually challenged by others who seek to overthrow his dominion and seize control of his territory and his pride. If he was to lose authority over his pride, there could be serious consequences for his offspring. Any lion who dethroned him would possibly kill his cubs so there would be no future threat of rebellion from his offspring. Amelia Earhart said, Courage is the price that life exacts for granting peace. To retain his crown, and peace for his pride, the king must stay vigilant and courageous.
