Most of the images Ive seen of this area try to dramatize the waves coming in to smash the coastline. And when I was there, I did see that type of action at high tide. But I decided to also look at the area during low tide, when there was just a gentle swell. The difference was amazing. It was as if the raging sea had calmed and a truce had been made. I love the way you can see clearly all the amazing colours and textures of the stones in the pool on the shoreline. Those colourful stones in the pool are by-products of the raging tides. But I also love the tranquility of this scene. Its not a shoreline under invasion, but a shore at peace with the sea.
