This Salmon Gum is a classic Australian gum tree. Standing isolated from its peers in that huge open wheat field. In the past the area would have no doubt been covered in these majestic old trees, but today only this one has survived. Many species of birds make their homes among its branches. The mark on the lower trunk area of the tree was caused by native parrots playfully chewing the bark off. Full heads of wheat are swayed by the wind in the soft glow of twilight.
