I photographed this glorious (and rather surprising) view of Uluru from the rock's southern side. The weather was wild, it was raining, and cataracts of water were cascading down the rock from the heights above. To get this shot, I was standing with my tripod stretched over the stream in the foreground, with water running beneath my feet. I was on my own, so I had to continually wipe the rain from my camera while struggling to hold onto my golf umbrella in the wind. You can see the treetops swirling in the wind. But how wonderfully refreshing the water looks as it fills the pool at the rock's base - just as it has been doing for thousands of years with every passing storm.
