These falls were named after the anti-logging protestors whose efforts in 1979 helped establish the area as a national park. It is a beautiful location. Rich colours dapple the stone, a veil of pure water descends from the upper forest, and a mist of droplets invigorates the nearby palms. Every river creates its own identity as it carves away at the land. It is a process that lasts millennia, and our own visits catch only the most cursory glimpses. There is a history at Protestors Falls far older than the loggers (or the environmentalists). It is a legacy worth preserving far into the future
